about

Hi there!  Thanks for stopping by!

I started the Hosanna Kids blog to help keep a record of the lessons and crafts I teach once a month at my church in Berkeley, CA.

As a volunteer in a small kids ministry (5 kids in the elementary class) that operates on a shoestring budget, I enjoy the challenge of coming up with ideas on limited resources as it means I get to be creative!  Currently we reuse old curriculum (Gospel Light) and add our own crafts and games.  My lesson plans are for kids age 5 - 7 years.

As a Sunday school teacher I have the enormous privilege of seeing the Bible come alive for kids, and I look forward to my lesson as the highlight of my week.  I am still developing my philosophy on teaching, but I think the following describe my goals for ministry to kids; that it is:
  • fun! (for me too!)
  • faithful to Scripture
  • and that it connects children to Jesus
I am excited to meet others who are on the same journey, so please don't be shy to comment and say hi!

"But when the chief priests and the teachers of the law saw the wonderful things he did and the children shouting in the temple area, "Hosanna to the Son of David," they were indignant.  "Do you hear what these children are saying?" they asked him.  "Yes," replied Jesus, "have you never read, 'From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise'?"
